Au college…

Heute bin ich mit den Jungs zur Schule gegangen. Eine Doppelstunde Mathe. 50 Kinder (weniger als ein Drittel sind Mädchen) in der Klasse und am besten soll ich neben allen sitzen. Alle strahlen mich an und wollen meinen Namen wissen und dann versuchen sie alle möglichen Sprüche in verschiedenen Fremdsprachen an mir aus. Der Lehrer hat nichts dagegen, dass ich bleibe und so lerne ich nochmal zwei Stunden Geometrie. Das habe ich in der Schule eh nie richtig verstanden. Der Lehrer rechnet vor und dann holt er ab und zu jemanden an die Tafel zum weiterzurechnen. Um Sinus und Cosinus zu berechnen haben die meisten Kinder sogar einen Taschenrechner. Aber wie der richtig funktioniert weiß eigentlich kaum jemand und die Wurzeltaste von dem Kind neben mir funktioniert nicht denn wir kommen nicht auf das richtige Ergebnis. Am Ende wollen sie wissen wann ich wieder komme aber das weiß ich noch nicht.

Today I went to school with the boys. Two hours of maths. 50 kids (less than a third are girls) in the class and they all want me to sit next to them. Everyone smiles a big smile at me and wants to know my name and then they try different fraises in different foreign languages on me. The teacher doesn’t mind, so I study another two hours of geometry. I never really got that in high school anyways. The teacher makes some calculations on the board and then gets some kids to do the rest. In order to calculate sinus and cosines most of the kids even have a calculator. However, most kids don’t know how to use it right and some of the keys of the calculator of the boy next to me don’t work correctly because with some calculations we never get the right answer. In the end they all want to know when I come back but I’m not quite sure yet.
